MasterTemplate Upgrade 2017
MasterTemplate, the Office Standard for ArchiCAD, has been in continuous development since 2007, with new versions prepared each year to take advantage of the latest features and technology provided by Graphisoft.
For ArchiCAD 21, and our tenth anniversary, I’m planning one of our biggest upgrades ever. We’ll be incorporating innovative options compiled from extensive field research for last year’s ArchiCAD Templates and Office Standards course. I’m also integrating systematic optimizations based on discussions with Tim Ball and Andreas Lettner as we organize the MASTERS of ARCHICAD 2017 online course.
Graphisoft’s new ARCHICAD 21 is a fantastic leap forward in a great many ways. MasterTemplate will be retooled to give the most elegant, integrated solution available for ARCHICAD users anywhere in the world. MasterTemplate 21 will be released a few weeks after Graphisoft ships ArchiCAD 21, allowing us to prepare and test it before distribution.
Upgrades to MasterTemplate are available for owners of any previous version for $147, with an early-bird promotional price of $97 through Friday June 16.
New licenses of MasterTemplate 21 will be on sale during this early-bird promotion for only $197, a savings of $100. (AMT20 will be delivered immediately, with AMT21 shipping as soon as it is released.)
ARCHICAD 21 Upgrade Training
As I’ve done for over 20 years, I will be creating a special upgrade training course to cover the new features of ARCHICAD 21. This series of 4 online training webinars will show you how to migrate your projects and templates forward into the new software, as well as go into depth on all of the new tools and reworked methods.
Classes will be held on Thursdays at 1 pm PDT on July 6, 20 and August 3 & 17, with recordings posted for permanent reference.
The upgrade training will sell for $197 with an advanced purchase price of $100 available through June 30.
MASTERS of ARCHICAD 2017
Tim Ball and I were talking about how to describe MASTERS of ARCHICAD 2017.
I said: “It’s an online training series that shows a real-life complex project being developed from concept through working drawings and beyond, pushing the technology and demonstrating best practices for workflow and collaboration.”
Tim said: “It’s actually much simpler than that. We’re going to show how to efficiently and effectively use ARCHICAD on real projects in a way that makes your firm money.”

We’ll take a complex, real-world project (60 room hotel on a hillside) and develop it from concept through working drawings plus cost estimation, collaboration with consultants and marketing renderings. The workflow will systematically build the building model and data from LOD 100 (“Level of Detail” for conceptual design) through LOD 200 and LOD 300 (these are formal BIM terms well-defined in the industry) while teaching current Best Practices methods for ARCHICAD 21.
The program launches June 28 and will run on alternate Wednesdays at 1 pm US Pacific time. We’ll have 16 live webinar sessions through February 2018, and each session will be recorded and posted for permanent reference.
We’ll also be running a special one day online Summit conference in March 2018, summarizing the findings from this extended journey.
The enrollment fee for this extended training program will be $697, with the Summit at $97. An introductory bundle price of $497 for the training series plus Summit will be available through June 30.
